A truly stunning original Art Deco Hille Dining Room Suite comprising of Table, 8 Chairs (2 Carvers), Sideboard with integral Cocktail cabinet and a Server. I have to say to date this has to be the most fantastic and original full set of dining furniture we have ever seen. Designed by Salomon Hille and hand crafted by the finest men available using exotic woods and veneers that have truely stood the test of time. Sometimes i look at furniture and wonder how they did some things. The Carvers have curved arms which have been veneered all around, simply fabulous. It’s in fabulous. quite unbelievable condition. The furniture was purchased by a Mrs D Freemon in November 1939 from Harrods. It still bares the Deposit label which states it was stored in the purpose built Harrods Depository builing which still dominates the banks of the Thames today. This is a very rare set veneered on the exterior using Burr Walnut and Amboyna, the interior using satin wood and walnut. We beieve it to be a one off, custom built for Harrods selective cliental. The cocktail section of the sideboard still has its lead lined bottle cooling tray intact and a pull out mixing tray.
